At the beginning of the 19th century, the most beautiful private villas in the spa town of Sovata were built on the site of the dried-up valley of the ‘Golden Stream’, on the present-day Road of the Roses, near Lake ‘’Ursu’’
Villa Dessewffy, one of the buildings that dominated the landscape of Sovata, was built in 1906 in the National-Romanesque style, with a masonry structure and wooden ceilings.
The first owner and builder of the villa was Aristid Dessewffy.
After 1930 the building became the property of Albert Klein, a teacher from Sibiu. The building was collec collectivized in 1947 and was only retroceded in the early 1990s. The building underwent several alterations over the years, and was used as a guesthouse for decades.
In spring 2018, a family from Hungary bought the property, which was in a state of degradation at the time.
In the fall of 2021, renovation and modernization of the villa and its surroundings began, in the spirit of preservation and in line with modern requirements.
Opened in August 2024 under the name TURUL VILLA, the carefully renovated and elegantly furnished 4-star accommodation unit with 7 rooms and 7 suites offers a pleasant stay for a total of 40 persons and awaits its guests.
